SPIC MACAY: The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst the Youth, is a non-profit, voluntary, apolitical and participatory student movement which ought to conserve aesthetics, spirituality, subtle values and mystical touch of the priceless cultural heritage of India. Through classical and folk art forms we aim to provide a unique learning experience instilling thought and genuine spirit of enquiry into the technical and competitive environs of the young through the close contact with the so called Gurus of Cultural Heritage of India, thus bringing awareness about the deeper human values. SPIC MACAY recognizes the dynamic vitality of the youth and incorporates it to cajole them into being the custodians of what is actually their birthright, namely their heritage, roots and identity.

The University, since its inception in 1919, has been churning out nation builders, who’ve actually contributed a lot in making the real India. IT-BHU stands as a shining jewel amidst of the technological developments and realizes the importance of the rich cultural heritage of India.
SPIC MACAY is a student movement registered under the Societies Act. It has a
central executive body in New Delhi and organizes its programme through a
nationwide network of school, colleges and educational institutions. SPIC MACAY
conducts its programmes by raising funds through the central and state
governments, public and private sector, corporations, trusts and individual
donations. The state group or Chapters function in liaison with the central
group, all of who operate according to the constitutions of the society. Schools
and colleges have in turn formed sub-chapters, which interact with the local
chapter of particular town/city. The National Executive and Advisory board are
instrumental in providing necessary direction and guidance to the movement.
