About the
Department
With the
inspiration of Late Mahamana
Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya
and with the untiring zeal and
enthusiasm of Late Professor
M.L.Schroff, this Department was
established as early as 1932.
This is the first Institution in
the country to start the degree
level Pharmacy Education and can
claim to be pioneering center
for Pharmacy Education in the
Asian, African and Far-East
region of the world. Students
graduated from this Department
have spread over US, Europe,
Thailand, Malaysia, Fiji and
other Central African countries.
The Department
offers B Pharm (4 yrs),
Integrated M Pharm (5 yrs),
M Pharm (2 yrs) and Ph D
courses. The courses are
designed to impart knowledge
on various aspects of
design, development, testing
and safe and effective use
of drugs and medicines
including drug delivery
systems. The courses provide
an unique fusion of biology
with engineering and
technological concepts to
develop skilful
process(es")/techniques for
designing, procuring and
evaluating various kinds of
drugs, drug delivery
systems. The courses also
provide a unique oppurtunity
to pharmacy qualified
professionals to serve the
humanity by alleviating the
discomfort, pain and
sufferings (caused by
various diseases) through
discovery and development of
safe and effective drugs and
medicines.
