CodeFest in association with Ribbit is conducting a webinar on "Introduction to Mobile/Web/Desktop application development using Ribbit API" by professionals from Ribbit. It would be a 1.5 hour long workshop followed by a separate Q&A session for interested candidates.

Agenda of workshop will be as follows :

  • Introduction
    • Presenters, what we do for Ribbit, what the platform is.
  • Functional demo
    • Blaster as an example of something that can be done
  • REST API Walkthrough
    • using kermit to explore the REST exposure
    • setting up a notification url
    • authentication & security
      • user/domain model
      • client/server authentication and 2-legged OAuth
      • ribbit mobile login/3 legged authentication
  • SDKs
    • Some sample apps (each of the different languages) and corresponding live code development for
      • sending sms (java)
      • creating and recording a call (php)
      • file upload and download (.net)
      • collect dtmf (javascript)
  • Coding Demo (javascript)
    • Write an app that registers a purpose number, leave a voicemail, poll for a transcription, show the transcribed message.
  • Q&A (20 minutes)

Introductory Workshop on Desktop and Web Application development using Ribbit API

6th Febuary 2010

A workshop was conducted on "Introduction to Desktop and Web Application development using Ribbit API" on 6th,Feb,2010 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at G-8 Department of Electrical Engineering. 107(Just approximation I don't have that attendance Sheet, will just check it with neeraj ) students from IT-BHU attended the session. Session was started with an introductory presentation on Ribbit API followed by demonstration of an application development in java using ribbit api.

The Most interesting part of the workshop was demo, specially when we called two people from audience and connected them over their phone using application developed during the workshop in java.
