The Department of Applied Physics currently offers PhD Programmes and a 5 year Integrated M-Tech in Engineering Physics.  It also participates in collaborative research programs with other departments of engineering and technology leading to PhD degrees. The Department has strong research activities in the field  of Space Physics, Solar Physics, Plasma Physics, Fiber Optics, Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science. The faculty members of the department have been regularly visiting and collaborating in frontline research with prestigious national and international institutes. In addition, all engineering undergraduate students at IT-BHU are also offered courses at the department.
