Wavelets and Distributions

For many years, the sine, cosine and imaginary exponential functions have been the basis and remains unquenchable source of problems and discoveries in mathematical analysis. The problems arise from the absence of a good dictionary for impossible to predict the properties (sine regularly) of a function solely from knowledge of the order of magnitude of its Fourier coefficients. At the beginning of 1980, many scientists were already using “ wavelets” as an alternative to traditional Fourier analysis. We are exploring the various criteria for wavelet series to belong to LP(IRn), when 1< p < ¥ and to H1(IR1).
